Your holiday checklist

The month of December often goes hand in hand with a plethora of events scheduled in your calendar(s). Don’t forget about shopping, cleaning, hosting, cooking… the list goes on.

In attempt to give you a place to start, we’ve compiled a list of typical must-dos that you’ll want to refer to and check off throughout the next month!

 

  1. MARK YOUR CALENDAR – note dates of holiday parties, events, and children’s concerts you plan to attend
  2. DECK THE HALLS – unpack your holiday decorations, set up your tree, and put up your exterior lights and décor
  3. SPREAD THE LOVE – research local charities and find out ways you can help out in the community over the holidays
  4. PLAN FOR YOUR FAVES – collect recipes of your favourite festive appies and dinner dishes for gatherings at your place or to bring over to a friends’
  5. STOCK UP – restock your pantry and refreshments for holiday gatherings. Order your turkey or ham!
  6. POST IT – ship your Christmas cards and gifts so they arrive by the 25th and send out any digital greetings
  7. MAKE A SWEET SCENE – get into the holiday spirit by baking cookies or building a gingerbread house
  8. GET READY FOR HOLIDAY HOUSEGUESTS – clean up the house, arrange your furniture for entertaining and get guest rooms in order
  9. IT’S A WRAP – finish wrapping your presents and get them under the tree!
  10. PREP, COOK + BAKE – prep as much food as possible. If you’re hosting Christmas Eve or Christmas dinner, start cooking early in the day.
  11. CELEBRATE – enjoy your Christmas gatherings and time spent with family and friends
  12. RELAX + REFLECT – take a deep breath, write thank you notes and take time to think about the year that was and the year ahead
